Laser Therapy

Laser Treatment

At Yeronga Vet Surgery, we pride ourselves with always searching for new ways to care for your pets especially where pain is concerned. Veterinary laser therapy provides a non-invasive, pain-free, surgery-free and drug-free treatment that is used to treat a variety of conditions and can be performed in conjunction with existing treatments. We are proud to offer laser therapy for your pets at our veterinary clinic.

The benefits of laser therapy can’t be overstated. It not only hastens healing, it actually improves the way tissue repairs and renews itself. In post-operative patients, laser treatments reduce the risk of complications.Lasers can reverse muscle atrophy and improve tendon and ligament strength and resilience. Range of motion, function, flexibility and mobility are all enhanced. In addition, the probability of re-injury is significantly less. Pets get back on their feet and return to normal activities faster.Patients don’t need to be sedated. No drugs are involved; there are no IV lines and no invasive clipping of hair or cutting into the skin.

Laser Treatment for dogs

Laser treatment for dogs employs deep-penetrating light to promote a chain of chemical reactions known as photobiostimulation. This process helps relieve pain through the release of endorphins, and it stimulates injured cells to heal at an accelerated pace.

Laser treatments for dogs are cumulative, so each additional treatment facilitates a greater improvement in your dog’s condition. The length and frequency of treatments vary by condition, so allow your veterinarian to help devise a sufficient laser treatment schedule for your canine companion.

Dog laser therapy can be used to treat a multitude of ailments, including:

  • Muscle, ligament and tendon injuries
  • Post-surgical and soft tissue trauma
  • Back pain

  • Ear infection
  • Gingivitis
  • Hot Spots and open wounds

Laser Treatment for Horses

Horses can be treated with laser therapy, a treatment method that is being used increasingly by veterinarians, different types of equine practitioners, such as equine physical therapists and equine massage therapists, as well as private horse owners who wish to shorten the duration of an injury or illness in their horse.

Laser therapy for horses can be used to treat a multitude of ailments, including:

  • Soft Tissue Injuries
  • Arthritis
  • Tendon and Ligament Tears

  • Joint Conditions
  • Neurologic Injuries
  • Suspensory tears (soft tissue injury)

Laser Treatment for Exotics

Laser therapy is effective across all species. Treatment protocol settings for exotic species have been a work in progress by the Companion Therapy veterinary clinical team as well as experienced exotic practitioners. Protocol settings for canine and feline patients in earlier laser therapy devices had to be adjusted for use in these smaller species. Consideration for the anatomic and physiologic differences in these exotic species led to further adjustments of treatment protocols.

The Klaser can be adjusted to deliver as little as 0.1 Watt. This allows you to treat pocket pets, reptiles, and avian species safely and efficiently by extrapolating the dosage based on the same standard guidelines.
