Anita was raised in Yeronga and attended Yeronga State High School She finished Year 12 as Dux of the School and was accepted into the veterinary course at the University of Old She graduated with first class honours and has been a member of the ‘Australian Veterinary Association’ since 1992. Anita is also a member of the ‘Australian Veterinary Small Animal Association’. Anita began her working career in rural NSW in a mixed animal practice. Anita  then spent a few years working as a locum vet in the UK until she returned to Brisbane with her husband in 2000 Anita worked as a locum at Yeronga Vet Surgery and Highgate Hill. where she quickly established herself as a highly confident and popular local vet.

Between 2001 – 2004 Anita took a few years off to start a family and she is the proud mother of 3 children, Samuel, Grace and Marcus.

In 2006. Anita was offered the opportunity to purchase Yeronga Vet Surgery She couldn’t resist the challenge of owning the local vet surgery where she had previously worked.

Anita quickly built up a loyal clientele and her focus has always been on delivering the
highest standards of care for her clients pets.

In 2011. the surgery became a victim of the terrible floods and although the clinic was out of action for some time. Anita continued to serve the local community by offering free check ups and limited veterinary services.

Anita’s passion for delivering the highest standards of care for her clients motivated her to begin designing a brand new surgery on the existing site These plans resulted in the
demolition of the existing building to build a brand new state of the art clinic that could
deliver the very best veterinary care. Such is her devotion to her clients that she continued running the surgery out of a mobile office and the cattery was fitted out for the reception area and surgery and food sales.

My Passions

As a vet, my passion is to extend the utmost care and comfort to all the pets that are in pain or discomfort. I aim to treat any injuries, traumas, infections or diseases that your little ball of fur might be experiencing, and give them respite from their pain.

Respect for clients, their pets, other team members and ourselves.

Compassion for clients and their pets to comprehend the possible attachment and emotion that is associated with each pet.

Empathy towards clients and their pets. to listen to clients’ wishes and needs and to respect those needs to comprehend what the pet is going through.

Taking care of your pet

Yeronga Vet Surgery is an established veterinary service located in Brisbane that believes in offering the best care to your pet. Our goal is to treat any ailments your pet might be experiencing and give them relief from their constant aches or distress. We are equipped with ultra-modern technology that enables us to examine our patients in order to diagnose their problem. With a methodological approach to your pet’s treatment, we proceed step-by-step from diagnoses to consultation and treatment, followed by after-care. Depending on the condition of your pet, we offer non-invasive, non-abrasive and surgical treatments. We also provide them with natural therapies and supplements in order to ensure their health and wellbeing. Our experts are keen to restore your pet to their healthy and active lifestyles, which is why we provide you with a detailed, post-treatment care guide.

I have been a patient of Yeronga Vet Clinic for over 20 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Dr Lisca and the team are second to none. Recently my 3 year old Labradoodle Daisy ruptured her cruciate ligament and underwent surgery. The professionalism and care Daisy received was top class. I would recommend Yeronga Vet Clinic to anyone looking for a great vet service for their fur baby.

We first came to Yeronga Veterinary Surgery nearly 4 years ago, carrying our tiny black Labrador puppy Delilah in, hoping to find some guidance and caring attention, and just a little bit of shared dog-madness. Well, we were in luck, and we have never looked back. The team at Yeronga Vet Surgery have been nothing short of exceptional at every step of our journey with them. From the basics of preventative care to important surgeries (and the odd mini-emergency thanks to our hungry labradors…) everyone has been both professional and welcoming, and more importantly, extremely good at their jobs! I am constantly blown away by the care and attention we receive, and the fact that our dogs cry with excitement when we pull into the street says it all. We’ve never had dogs who are so excited to visit the vet. We can’t recommend the team highly enough – they are exceptional.

Hi there puny human my name is Bastet. Here is a picture of me in all my glory to help your feeble human brain rest for a moment so I don’t pile on to much information at once. Ready? Nevermind let’s continue. Every few months my manservant deems it necessary to verify the divinity of close personal friend Zeus and myself, here is picture of us looking regal. I know you’re thinking “They are clearly perfect why would he waste their time.” and the answer is frankly he’s not very bright but means well so we indulge him. One thing we demand in return is that he takes us to the Yeronga Vet Surgery where we know we will be shown the respect and deference as befits ones such as us. So if you must interrupt the napping, playing or eating of your betters take them to Yeronga Vet Surgery.

Yeronga Vet have alway been wonderful in their professionalism and care over the years for those furrier members of the family, adding a healthy dose of genuine sympathy for those less routine difficult visits.
